Spanish Exchange Day 2

Sunday

More mayhem
. I hardly slept last night due to funny time zones having travelled so much and I had so much on my mind; the day before, the coming days, my family, all the spanish people etc. And my exchange Patri had metal blinds so I had no sense of what time it was. Eventually she had to come wake me because I spent hours lying in bed `asleep´. We got up and her mum gave me fresh orange juice.. when I say fresh I mean she went to the effort to squeeze an orange for me. Everyone in Spain is too kind, they want to pay for all your food and drink, and squeeze you an orange instead of pouring it from a carton.

Her family said they were going to take me to their town and show me their second home.. which looked pretty much exactly the same to their first. They told me they were going to show me around the town when they led me into a house where literally their entire family was, all the aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters and grandparents were there all speaking in extremely fast spanish. Fortunately Patris sister is really good at English and would translate for me. `hace frio´it´s cold, everyone says this non stop and so the whole family were wearing dressing gowns and they had this weird thing where they had a little fire under the table.. so you had to becareful where you put your feet. They fed me LOADS by the time I get back to England I´m going to be fat because I eat so much out here, we had paella for starters, loads of chicken for tmains and then lots of traditional Spanish christmas treats and coffee, this was after we had been to the bar to eat tapas as well! We sat in the bar with Giorgia, her exchange and their friends for a while and talked about things like celebraties we liked. Then we went back to their first home where the family fed me more treats and THEN we went out with Giorgia, Rosalind, Tracy and their exchanges and had hot chocolate that was so thick it was practically just melted chocolate. I really bonded with some of the Spanish girls who make me laugh.

I´m so full now I could hardly eat dinner, so actually not really mayhem just completely stuffed.

Ps: sorry if my English is a little bit off, for some reason I´m finding it hard to switch from english to spanish and back again so it´s all over the place. Still having a great time, this trip is turning out to be much better than I thought!
