Nassau - Bahamas Day 2: The set up

Thursday

Today we woke up and everything felt so real unlike the night before where everything had felt like a dream. Well rested we woke up around 7 due to time differences and went to the hotel dining room for a breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sosages, pancakes and french toast which was weird having that (it being quite English). As soon as I'd had my last mouthfull I was dying to go down to the sea, so I ran back to our room to get changed and down to the beach, unfortunately Audrey and Gloria didn't want to join me (god knows why it was so beautiful and warm). I love the white sand and the turqouise sea and when I was done I went and swam in the hotel pool.

Very excited about the day ahead of us we kept dying for the time to come for Sherrie (Terry Mannings wife) to come pick us up. We got down to the studios, checked out the boys apartment and got setting up. Terry wanted everyone to get comfortable with everything before we started to record so there was lots of trying out different snares, symbols, pedals and amps. Unfortunately for me today wasn't a vocal day so I didn't have too much to do except sing sometimes whilst they were recording to guide them. Shiva recorded 2 songs today the songs we like to call 'the new song' and 'the new new song' until we decide on song titles.

The sound quality of the tracks when we heard them back were sick even before he mixed them. Terry wanted a live energetic feel for our tracks so instead of doing each instrument one by one we did them all together to create a live feel. When they were being played back Terry had his eyes closed and was rocking around which made me giggle but it meant he really liked them so that was great.

Whilst hanging around I decided to go up to the boys apartment for a bit to hang out. Now on the roof of the boys balcony there is a hornet hive and when I was up there I accidently let two into the apartment. Alex came upstairs and we had to smash them with Henrys shoes. Apparently the one rule of the boys apartment is DON'T LET THE HORNETS IN and I broke it.

Over dinner we all indulged ourselves in bad American TV and big plates of bolonaise. Then went back to the studio (some in their PJ's) to record more. My jet lag really started to kick in so I fell asleep, woke up by Audrey and then fell asleep again instantly, if I was tired I couldn't even imagine how tired Audrey was after playing hours of drums.
